DAY 1: Cappadocia to Kahta via Kahramanmaraş
- 08:00 am: Pickup from your hotel in Cappadocia. We embark on an exciting journey via Kayseri, starting with a visit to Karatayhan Caravanserai, a 13th-century Seljuk Turkish architectural marvel.
- Midday: Continue to Pinarbaşı Village for lunch, driving through the picturesque Taurus Mountains. Enjoy the scenic countryside and experience rural Turkish life.
- Afternoon: Arrive in Kahramanmaraş to sample the renowned goat milk ice cream, celebrated as some of the best in Turkey.
- Evening: Proceed to Kahta and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2: Adıyaman, Mount Nemrut, Harran, Şanlıurfa
- Early Morning: Depart from the hotel for Mount Nemrut. Upon arrival, a 25-minute walk leads us to the summit, where we witness a breathtaking sunrise among the colossal statues and heads of kings and gods. Mount Nemrut, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2015, offers a truly memorable experience.
- Late Morning: Visit Arsemia, the former capital of the Commagene Kingdom, followed by the ancient Septimus Severus Bridge over the Cendere Stream and the Karakus Tumulus, where members of the royal family were interred.
- Afternoon: Travel to Şanlıurfa, with a stop at the Atatürk Dam, the largest in the Middle East. Check into your hotel in Şanlıurfa and enjoy lunch.
- Post-Lunch: Explore Abraham’s Cave and the Pools of Holy Carp, stroll through the oriental covered bazaar and Gümrükhan, and then head to Harran. Discover this ancient village with its distinctive mud-brick "beehive" houses, mentioned in the Book of Genesis, where Abraham spent his final years.
- Evening: Dinner and overnight stay in Şanlıurfa.
DAY 3: Göbeklitepe, Birecik, Gaziantep, Cappadocia
- Morning: After breakfast, we set off for the Göbeklitepe excavation site. This hilltop sanctuary, situated about 15 km northeast of Sanlıurfa, is recognized as the oldest sanctuary in the world, dating back approximately 11,500 years.
- Midday: Drive to Birecik, known for its endangered bald ibis (Kelaynak) birds. Visit the breeding farm dedicated to these rare birds, followed by a lunch break.
- Afternoon: Continue to Gaziantep to explore the world’s richest collection of mosaics at the Zeugma Mosaic Museum.
- Late Afternoon: Drive through the Taurus Mountains, enjoy a brief tea break for photos, and then return to Göreme.
