Itinerary

Are you eager to journey back to the first century and explore the early days of Christianity through the lives of St. Paul of Tarsus and St. Peter of Antioch? Our 2-Day Tour from Cappadocia to Tarsus and St. Peter’s Church is just what you need! Located just a 2-hour drive from St. Paul’s hometown and an additional 3-hour drive to St. Peter’s Church, this tour offers a unique opportunity to visit two of the first nine Christian pilgrimage sites. Join us for an enlightening adventure!

Day 1: Tarsus – Adana

08:30 am: We will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia or from Kayseri and Nevsehir Airports and head towards Tarsus, crossing the Taurus Mountains. Along the way, we’ll make a brief stop at Pozantı Valley to capture photos of the Taurus Mountains, also known as the Anatolian Alps, and enjoy a local drink made from carrot juice called "Salgam."

11:30 am: Upon arriving in Tarsus, we will visit the House of St. Paul. Here, you can drink from a well believed to have been dug by St. Paul himself in the first century. You will also have the chance to walk along the ancient walls of the house and feel the mystical energy of a place St. Paul frequently returned to after his sacred journeys.

12:30 pm: Our next stop will be a historic church built in the 6th century in honor of St. Paul. This church was designed with six pillars and six domes to resemble Hagia Sophia.

13:30 pm: We will then head to Adana.

14:30 pm: Arrive in Adana for lunch. Enjoy some of Turkey’s most famous dishes, including “Adana Kebab,” “Sırdan,” “Gerdan,” “liver,” and “mumbar.”

15:30 pm: We will visit the longest and oldest Roman bridge still in use, the Taşköprü. Built in the 4th century by Emperor Hadrian, this impressive bridge allows us to feed seagulls with “simit.”

16:30 pm: Next, we’ll explore the third-largest mosque in Turkey, constructed in 1998 by the Sabancı family. With its six minarets and blue tile decorations, it closely resembles the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

Overnight in Adana…

Day 2: Hatay – Return to Cappadocia

08:30 am: After breakfast, we will set off for Hatay.

11:00 am: Arrive at the Church of St. Peter. Originally a small cave carved out by early Christians for shelter and prayer, it was later converted into a church in the early second century. This site is where St. Peter invited St. Paul to deliver his sacred mission.

12:00 pm: After visiting this significant pilgrimage site, we will continue to the Titus Tunnels.

13:00 pm: Arrive at the Titus Tunnels, carved in the first century by Roman Emperor Vespasian to protect the settlement of Seleucia Pieria from flooding. Enjoy a hike inside the tunnel before heading to our next stop.

14:30 pm: Arrive at the Defne Waterfalls. Enjoy a traditional lunch with breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of the waterfall.

16:00 pm: After lunch, we will begin our journey back to Cappadocia. The drive will take approximately 6 hours. For those who prefer not to return to Cappadocia, we can provide a shuttle to Hatay or Adana Airports.

22:00 pm: Arrive in Cappadocia.
