Itinerary for Nemrut Göbeklitepe Tour
This express tour package is perfect for those with limited time who still want to experience the highlights of Eastern Turkey. With this package, you will visit some of the most significant sites in the region.
DAY 1
- 08:00 am: Pickup from your hotel in Cappadocia. We will begin our journey to Nemrut with a stop at Karatayhan Caravanserai in Kayseri. This remarkable building showcases exquisite Seljuk architecture, and we will spend 30 minutes exploring it.
- 10:30 am: Departure for Kahramanmaraş. We will arrive around 13:00 pm for lunch, followed by a taste of the renowned handmade ice cream that the region is famous for.
- 14:00 pm: Continue our drive to Cendere Bridge. Arriving around 18:00 pm, we will spend 30 minutes at this historic bridge, one of the oldest still in use today. Following this, we will visit the Arsemia Ancient City, known for its relief depicting the handshake between God Heracles and Mithridates Callinicus. We will spend another 30 minutes here.
- 19:00–20:00 pm: Experience the stunning sunset on Nemrut Mountain, home to the monumental statues erected by the King of Kommagene for gods and ancestors. After sunset, we will drive to our hotel in Adıyaman, arriving around 22:30 pm for an overnight stay.
DAY 2
- 09:00 am: Depart from Adıyaman for Atatürk Dam. We will reach the dam by 10:00 am. As the largest dam in Turkey and the sixth largest in the world by volume, it offers impressive views. We will have 30 minutes here.
- 10:30 am: Head to Göbeklitepe, arriving around 12:30 pm. Known as the "zero point" of history, Göbeklitepe is the site of the world’s oldest known temple.
- 14:00 pm: Depart for Urfa, arriving around 14:45 pm. Enjoy lunch in Urfa before visiting the Holy Lake, the Cave of the Prophet Abraham, and the covered Bazaar.
- 16:30 pm: Begin the drive back to Cappadocia, arriving around midnight.
