DAY 1 Cappadocia- Karatayhan- Cendere Bridge- Arsemia Ruins – Sunset on Nemrut Mountain
08:30 am We will pick you up from your hotel in Cappadocia or from Nevşehir Airport & Kayseri Airport. And depart for Karatayhan Ceravansai by fallowing historical Silk Road.
10:00 am We will arrive in our first point of the day . Karatayhan Ceravansai , it was built in 1240 by the famous Seljuk Vizier Celaleddin Karatay to support traders of the time for their safety , accommodation , food and health . It was in use until 1960s . It has an unusual art of stone carving . Detailed workmanship of etrance gate. We will have almost 30 minutes time to explore this incredible monumental construction. The will depart for Tekir Valley.
12: 30 pm We will get change to taste most organic and natural meal can be have in Turkey. Tekir is a valley connecting Central Anatolia and Mesopotamia. While we passing through valley we will see the pasturing herds of lamps , sheep , cows but specially goats on legendry Taurus Mountains which is Anatolian Alps. All the meals in Turkey must over with sweets but we will wait almost 45 minutes for the deserts of this meal because as a desert we will taste handmade Turkish ice cream made by goats milk at Kahramanmaras. It is the most delicious and natural ice cream in the world.
14:00 pm We will depart from Kahramanmaras to Cendere Bridge.
17.00 pm Cendere Bridge will be our first step in Mesopotamia. It is located on the Ancient Cabinas (Cendere) Stream. The bridge was built at ( 193-211 ) A.C. by the order of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus. Cendere Bridge is a magnificent monumental example of Ancient Roman architecture. Consisting of two arches, one main arch and one evacuation arch, the bridge is made of smooth cut stones, each weighing tons.
17:30 pm Will depart from Cendere Bridge to Arsemia Ruins
17:45 pm We will arrive in Arsemia Ruins, According to the inscriptions of King Antiochus I; Arsameia is the summer capital and administrative center of the kingdom, which was founded in the beginning of the 2nd century BC by Arsemez, the ancestor of the Commagene, across the Old Kahta Castle on the east of the Kahta Stream. On the southern ceremonial road, there is the relief stele of Mithras, the Antiochos-Herakles handshake stele on the ritual platform, and the largest known Greek inscription in Anatolia in front of it. There is a tunnel starting from the place where the inscription was found and going 158 meters deep and a similar rock corridor to the west of the inscription. On the platform on the hill is the tomb temple and palace of Mithridates Callinichos.
18:15 pm We will depart for top of the Nemrut Montain to explore Tumulus of Anthiochus I. built at 62 BC. And sculptures of Western’s (Hellenic) and Eastern’s ( Persians) Gods while enjoying the most fascinating sunset experience of your life.
21:30 pm At the end of the day we will have dinner and overnight in Kahta .
DAY 2 Ataturk Dam – Gobeklitepe – Cave of Prophet Abraham – Holy Lake – Covered Bazaar of Urfa
8:30 am After breakfast we will depart for largest Dam of Middle East.
09:30 am It will be a 30 minutes nice break on the way from Kahta to Gobeklitepe with fascinating view of the dam beside of the tasting most delicious Turkish Coffee of the region you can also taste rosehip tea.
11:00 am We will reach oldest temple of human history named as Gobeklitepe which recently discovered by famous German archaeologist Klaus Schmidt. Excavations still in proses. After this discovery we learn that Göbeklitepe was a cult center dating back 12000 years. The mentioned scientific data about Göbeklitepe provide important information that requires re-evolution of the theoretical framework and dating related to Neolithic period in archaeological studies. It is known as the ground zero of humanity and the birthplace of civilizations.
12:30 pm On the way to Cave of Prophet Abraham we will have lunch break near covered bazaar of Urfa. We are sure you never can taste more delicious leaver kebab than the one you will taste here in any other part on the earth , sure if you are not leaver person there will be chicken meat and vegetarian options as well.
13:30 pm After lunch will have a walk at “Historical Covered Bazaar of Urfa” , we are quite often hearing from the guests “ I have never seen so many types of spices and Turkish delights before , I have never seen so many types coper items before “ etc… You will feel like a person living in the 12th and 13th centuries.
14: 30 pm Cave of Prophet Abraham will be our next stop. It is believed that Prophet Abraham was born in this cave. Also it is believed that the Prophet Abraham stayed in this cave until he was 7 years old and that the water in the cave good many diseases. Prophet Abraham is important not only for Jewish but also for all Christians and Muslims. Even now a days Cave of Prophet Abraham quite important Pilgrimage point for people who believes prayers of all those religions.
15:30 pm Holy Lake (Balıklıgol) will be our last stop. It is believed that Holy Lake (Balıklıgol) is the place where the prophet Abraham was thrown into fire. According to another legend, Balıklıgöl pools are ancient temples built for goddess Atargatis, who is half woman and half fish. It is estimated that it was built at uncertain date between 1000-300 BC. Today there are fish which dedicated to goddess Attargatis and this fish are forbidden to touch and eat in Israel, Lubenon and Syria.
16:30 pm After our last point “The Holy Lake” we will take a way back to Cappadocia. It will be almost six ours to drive to back Cappadocia but who doesn’t like to back Cappadocia can be dropped to Sanlıurfa Airport and they can take flight to Istanbul or Izmir (to visit Ephesus)
22.30 pm We will drop you back to your hotel or Kayseri Airport.
